As a child, I travelled many a mile with my family in our 4WD, now as an adult these distances covered in a 4WD increase as my fiancé and I continue our travels. Our first 4WD was a very trustworthy Troopy. In this we took on the most ridiculous of side angles (well, that a Troopy should attempt) enjoyed warm nights away from the bugs in the back and learnt just what can and cant be done with our vehicle. Once the dreaded "cancer" otherwise known as rust started to take hold, we upgraded to a Patrol. Currently we've changed and added just a couple of things, like roof racks, fridge slides, drawers, spring lift and far too many antennas (which he seems to keep adding to!) We haven't done as many km's off road in the new truck, but he's still got many a plan for it. Below are a few pic's of our trucks and some from the competitions we've marshalled and trips we've taken. The most memorable of all being our special weekend away, where he proposed to me at the Pinnacles Fire Tower.

The middle picture above is of me working on the car of Mike Smith. After a long weekend of Advanced Driver Training, Mike was taking a few around in his truck, just to show us how it's really done, on the last lap, with me in the passenger seat, the diff's started making some interesting noises. Mike was pleased this happened then, as a week later he was competing in the Ateco Warn Winch Challenge. So at the end of the night, we removed the axle to allow Mike to drive home in 2WD and protecting the diff from any further damage.

The middle picture below shows Mike Smith's car in action at the Ateco Warn Winch Challenge. The picture on the left was taken about 200m down the road from Craig's Hut near Mt Buller. This picture was taken on cup weekend November 2005, a few months later, this particular hut was burnt down in summer bushfires. It has since been rebuilt. The picture on the right is of our troopy when my fiancé almost attempted to turn the truck upside down with me and my best friend on board!

This last photo below is a special one. Mr Bar Humbug, aka my partner, decided for the first time ever to do something Christmassy. He decorated the truck! Needless to say, the Santa wasnt inflated when we drove, but the fairly lights were working!
